Bathroom

Bath vs Shower

Based on the average tub size and average shower water flow, showering more than 7 minutes can actually waste way more water than having a bath. In the UK, the average person showers for 9 minutes, with 7% running the shower for 3 minutes before they step in.

This doesnโ€™t mean that a shower is the worse option. It can be the better option if you use a timer (this could even be your favourite song) or install a water saving shower head. If you do want a bath, try not to fill the tub too high

Toiletries

Billions of razers a year end up in landfill. The best option is to get an old fashioned safety razor to avoid the plastic build up or battery usage.

Are solid bars of soaps, shampoos and conditioners worth it? For many reasons, yes. They reduce the water and energy usage when making the product and completely eliminate the need for packaging.

Deodorant isnโ€™t great. Whether roller or aerosol the packaging isnโ€™t easily recyclable. Many contain harmful ingredients for your body, causing health issues. Instead, look for plastic free, solid deodorants, you can even make your own.
